Description

The Magnum Learn Team is very excited to present its new Summer Course in Paris, taking place August 1230, 2024.

For three weeks, Magnum photographers Newsha Tavakolian, Lúa Ribeira and Peter van Agtmael will encourage you to develop a project focusing on the City of Light. By the end of the course, in collaboration with publisher Atelier EXB, you will create a fanzine.

Paris will have just emerged from the Olympic Games period and will be full of opportunities to try new and different approaches.

While shooting and participating in group review sessions with your mentors, you will also make the most of your time in Paris by meeting industry experts such as photo editors, curators and publishers. Prepare to be inspired by artists working with the photographic medium by attending exhibitions and meeting them in person. (All speakers will be confirmed soon.)

For an overview of the schedule, you can download this PDF. Please note that the program will be updated and can change over time.

This workshop offers:

  • A brand new project developed in Paris
  • The creation of a fanzine in collaboration with a publisher
  • Industry experts’ contacts
  • Discussions with other participants and speakers about photography, the industry and the different approaches towards it
