‘He has gold curtains that he k
(...) eeps half opened, half closed, and he looks out often. I think he believes that the curtains protect him from my gaze. That the curtains allow him to gather glimpses of truth about me and protect his intimate moments. I know he is a tango dancer who comes home with different women when I am just waking up for work. I know these women are his only visitors. I wonder what would be a moment so private to him that he would close his curtains entirely, if there is a part of him that I will never truly know.’”
