Work with a master street photographer to develop the mindset needed to make images on the streets. Learn about framing and composition, and how to navigate crowds and find a picture, all the while gaining an invaluable insight into creating your own unique photographic voice.
During the five-day workshop, you will work alongside Richard Kalvar to create a personal photographic response to the city. You will then participate in group review sessions and explore the power of editing to create a meaningful selection of work.
“New York, my hometown, is a great place for street photography. Things are always going on; there’s never a dull moment. And while it’s not always easy for a photographer to remain unnoticed anywhere in the world, New Yorkers are pretty blasé. They’ve seen a lot of photographers! My street photography is grounded in real people doing real things, and my observing them, reacting to them and trying to squeeze them into a rectangle.” — Richard Kalvar
Deadline to book: February 23, 2023
This workshop is limited to 12 participants. Applications are taken on a first come first served basis.
