Description

Born in Munich, Eric Hartmann moved to New York City at the end of WWII. It was here that he found his photographic voice, studying at the New School for Social Research, with Charles Leirens, Berenice Abbott and Alexei Brodovitch between 1948 and 1950, and later working an assistant to a portrait photographer and then as a freelancer. Here, he captures figures in a snowstorm in 1967.
