Self-portrait (Quai aux Fleurs). Paris. 2018.
“When creating a self-portrait, I often transform into a different persona. I’m usually
naked, so it’s not about putting on a costume. Somehow, I f (...)
ind myself responding to the
environment I’m in, sensing the past and future of that place as I perceive it. This
photograph was created in an old Parisian house. I was immediately drawn to the
dramatic red drapes, the antique chair. The room was lit with a harsh, bright
spotlight, and I couldn’t make up my mind whether this incongruity made the setting a
stage or an interrogation chamber.”
