"This photograph, from December 2017, was taken with the intention to investigate, document and assess the conditions of
(...) Puerto Rico months after the disaster of Hurricane Maria. It shows the remains of a building ravaged by the storm. Puerto Rico is entering a pivotal moment in its history. Documentation is essential at this critical juncture when the survival of its people and their cultural heritage is threatened. By telling the stories of Puerto Rico through images, and documenting this ongoing humanitarian crisis, I hope to inspire interest, build awareness and generate compassion."
