(...) sing sports in the reconciliation and healing process of the country in the aftermath of the Rwandan Genocide. July 4,1994, marked a turning point for Rwanda and her people following the liberation from the brutal genocidal regime. As the country and her people continue to heal, events like the Peace Marathon play a significant role in bringing people together and offer opportunities for them to reflect on the past while forging forward together into the future. I am particularly interested in the young people in Kigali, born after the genocide, and the role they play in the reconciliation and healing process.”
