Notre-Dame by Magnum Photographers

As fire engulfed the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral on April 15, Patrick Zachmann joined onlookers on the streets of Paris to photograph the fire. His work features in Vanity Fair‘s article that explores the significance of the incident for catholicism. The piece also includes an archival photo of the famous spire by Magnum’s Inge Morath. Alec Soth for W Magazine

Alec Soth travelled to the outskirts of Athens, Ohio, to photograph artists Ryan Trecartin and Lizzie Fitch, who have built a 32-Acre “queer playground”. Read their story and see Soth’s photos of the space on W Magazine here.

Harry Gruyaert’s Edges on PhotoBook Journal

The new edition of Harry Gruyaert’s book Edges has been reviewed on PhotoBook Journal, which says, “Gruyaert shares the wisdom of his long and rich life, and in so doing offers the viewer images of depth and poetry, of danger and indifference, drama and subtlety, community and isolation.”

Upcoming London Talk

On April 24, Magnum nominee Sim Chi Yin will give a presentation entitled “Images, Agency, and the Environment” at the Barbican Centre in London. The photographer will present two bodies of work and discuss her practice within the context of a discussion on the agency of images. More information and booking here.
