“The muxes of Oaxaca have always been in constant search of beauty, challenging what society has imposed for so many years. They have gone beyond
(...) the idea of gender to create an overly feminine identity, but at the same time, a dual one: two genders in one body. The Great Lady is a muxe who lived for many years. The Great Lady was respected, had a life full of obstacles and loneliness, but also a lot of happiness. This image reflects a bit of hope in the current adversity, believing that even if dreams seem lost, one day they can come true.”
