Susan Meiselas and Eve Arnold are featured alongside Abigail Heyman in the group exhibition Unretouched Women presented at Arles. The exhibition combines the three photographers’ photobooks published in the 1970s – including Arnold’s The Unretouched Woman and Meiselas’s Carnival Strippers which challenged gender bias and put “women to the test of the photographic image, avoiding stereotypes to draw alternative representations.”

A tour of the exhibition with Meiselas and curator Clara Bouveresse takes place Wednesday, July 3, 2019.

The exhibition is part of the Rencontres d’Arles 2019 festival and is produced in collaboration with Magnum Photos.
