Lorenzo Meloni, one of the few freelance photographers to have visited all of these location, offers a privileged insight into the conflict in Syria, Libya and Iraq in the fight against Islamic State. Presenting different opponents; the Jihadists, the pro-PKK Kurds and the Syrian regime, in alliance with Iran and Russia, his photographs also map out key sites of the battles: Mosul, Kobanî, Palmyra and Sirte. The Collapse of the Caliphate exposes the nature of the conflict and its direct consequences. Ruins and silence are the remaining testimonies of an ongoing destruction.

The exhibition will be displayed at Visa pour l’Image on Septembre 2017.
