Join Stuart Franklin in Taiwan for a discussion about his photographic career
Magnum Photos is delighted to announce a talk in Taipei led by its award-winning photographer Stuart Franklin and organized by XueXue Institute. For one evening, Stuart Franklin will talk about his career as a photojournalist, his book The Documentary Impulse, his recent role as the chair of the World Press Photo jury and news on his latest personal projects.

Stuart Franklin
Stuart Franklin (b. 1956), born in Britain, studied photography and film at West Surrey College of Art and Design, BA and geography at the University of Oxford, PhD. During the 1980s, he worked as a correspondent for Sygma Agence Presse in Paris before joining Magnum Photos in 1985. He is perhaps best known for his celebrated photograph of a man defying a tank in Tiananmen Square, China, which won him a World Press Photo Award. His publications include: The Time of Trees (1999), The Dynamic City (2004), and Sea Fever (2005).
