Sim Chi Yin presents a series of landscape photographs, still-life images and a video installation at Hanart TZ Gallery, Hong Kong. With multimedia works Requiem and Remnant, the exhibition draws on family history as a starting point, unearthing contested narratives and silenced memories in the first solo presentation of the work.
At the opening on Saturday June 15, Sim will engage in a performative reading and discussion with scholars Xu Xiaohong and Hsu Fang-Tze, curator and gallerist Johnson Chang and performance maker Mark Teh. The conversation is followed by a cocktail reception.
