Raymond Depardon's military photographs from 1962-63 are revisited in a solo exhibition in Toulon
Images from Raymond Depardon’s photographic activity from 1962-63 are exhibited at the maritime museum in Toulon with specifically created prints, shown for the first time since their publication in the magazine Terre Air Mer (TAM). Recording the years Depardon spent as a military photographer at TAM, the exhibition presents portrait, landscape, sports and general photographs that capture the French army in the post-war decades against a backdrop of economic, technological and societal growth and change.
The exhibition is part of the Rencontres d’Arles 2019 festival included in the Grand Arles Express program.
