The MMM at the Paris Cité de la Musique, a concert hall and cultural venue famed for building interdisciplanry relationships between music and the arts, is an exhibition which grew out of a meeting between Magnum’s Martin Parr, and the musician Matthieu Chedid (better known by his stage name “M”), who regularly employs beautiful visuals as an accompaniment to his music.

Describing Parr’s work as “a combination of aesthetics, derision, kindness and tenderness”, Chedid’s appreciation of the photographer’s images is encapsulated in the exhibition’s name, ‘Matthieu M (love) Martin’.

A complete embodiment of this collaboration between photographer and musician, MMM exists as a hybrid experience, simultaneously engaging both the ears and the eyes with its abundance of rich visuals and sound.

The exhibition is co-produced by Labo M, Magnum Photos and the Rencontres d’Arles, with support from SACEM and Prima la musica, patrons’ circle.
