Marking a 70 year contribution to photography, Magnum Photos’ extensive archive was curated by Andrew Richardson to a theme of resistance and protest, creating a project at the intersection between fashion and documentary photography in collaboration with Dover Street Market, to create a capsule collection of 5 t-shirts, sold exclusively via Dover Street Market.
Images include moments such as the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Tiananmen Square ‘Tank Man’, captured by artists Stuart Franklin, Thomas Dworzak, Leonard Freed and Guy le Querrec, photographs that have marked history and celebrate a spirit of resistance, independence and revolution in times of great social change.
The project will launch as part of Dover Street Market London’s Photo London Open House. All are welcome to join us to celebrate the launch at the store, from 5PM to 8PM, on Thursday, May 18th.
Also featuring at the Dover Street Market event is a selection of swimwear and soft accessories by Martin Parr and Paul Smith, reflective of both the designer’s and the photographer’s shared spirit, launching in the Paul Smith space in the Basement.
