Light Society is proud to announce its first Magnum Masterclass event, part of Magnum’s 70th anniversary program in Shanghai and Beijing, featuring Magnum member Raghu Rai, associate member Carolyn Drake, and nominee Matt Stuart.

Each of the three photographers will teach students about their photographic practice, sharing their own experience and the principles that have guided their careers.

During the intensive three-day photography masterclass, which includes a daily program of reviews, group critiques, mentoring and editing sessions, participants will develop their own visual language and ability to tell a story visually.

This masterclass will be held at Chi She Art Space from September 10th to 12th, 2017. It caters for intermediate to experienced photographers. Students must have a good knowledge of their camera and bring 10 photos to class for review (jpegs or prints). Students will be asked to bring their own laptop and cameras along with a USB stick. Only digital work will be reviewed during the course.
