During the last 12 months, the students of the Magnum and Spéos Creative Documentary and Photojournalism course have been working on their projects with the support of Spéos educators and Magnum photographers including Stuart Franklin, Abbas, Patrick Zachmann, Cristina de Middel, Jérôme Sessini, Richard Kalvar, Emin Özmen, Susan Meiselas, Thomas Dworzak and Jacob Aue Sobol.
After another successful year Magnum Photos and Spéos are pleased to present the end of the year projects of the students from the intensive program. This year’s students have been assigned with a long-term project: European Youth. The show will present a selection of their individual projects.
The European Youth project is also part of a collaborative assignment proposed to students in photojournalism from the University of Hanover (Germany) and from the Danish School of Media and Photojournalism of Aarhus (Denmark) and led this year by Stuart Franklin, Jacob Aue Sobol, Karen Fromm and Mads Greve. A group show will reveal their productions as well as the ones from last year’s students in September 2018 in Monschau (Germany).
Designed for students who wish to pursue a career in documentary photography and/or photojournalism, in the Magnum Photos tradition of visual storytelling, this program offers a unique learning experience for those who attend.
