Join Susan Meiselas for a fascinating look back over four decades as a documentary photographer and insights into her most recent projects, as she delves into her approach and her life through photography.
Widely-known for her coverage of the insurrection in Nicaragua and her documentation of human rights issues in Latin America – published throughout the world – renowned documentary photographer Susan Meiselas has been a member of the prestigious Magnum Photos since 1976. Susan has been the recipient of multiple awards over her long career, including the Robert Capa Gold Medal, the Leica Award for Excellence, the Hasselblad Foundation Photography prize and the Cornell Capa Infinity Award.
Meiselas’s immersive approach often sees her collaborate with her subjects over a long period of time, and tackle challenging subjects such as human rights, the sex trade and ethnic and religious conflicts. Bringing together work spanning her entire career, Meiselas’s recent retrospective ‘Mediations’ saw her awarded the 2019 Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize.
