Description

Join Magnum photographer Jérôme Sessini for an immersive shooting workshop that empowers photographers to create compelling, narrative-driven projects as part of our Inside>>Out program.

In this five-day workshop, you will develop a new photography story and shoot alongside one of the world’s most prolific and respected names working in the sensitive field of conflict zones.

“I don’t like rigid categories. Sometimes there is art in journalism and journalism in art. Conscience, heart, beauty, balance and loss of balance are essentials for me.” says Jérôme Sessini, reflecting on his path. Through insightful discussions, constructive critiques, and personalized mentorship, Jérôme will help you refine your visual storytelling skills.

By analyzing how you select your images and reviewing those you did not include in your selection, Jérôme will adapt his teaching approach. Depending on the subject you’re working on, he will suggest different compositions, help you recognize when a photograph works or does not, encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and expand your creativity through small assignments designed to help you grow in your practice.

Before the start of the workshop, you will be invited to think of different project ideas and submit them to Jérôme so he can provide the support, inspiration, and hands-on-guidance necessary to create a body of work that resonates with depth and authenticity.

Every minute was enjoyable. Jérôme Sessini was a great mentor. The whole team really liked him, he was always patient, helpful, always ready to talk. And we felt real interest in our work. On our last night together, Jérôme Sessini complimented us very much and was happy that our work had turned out so well.” says a participant from last year’s Inside>>Out workshop.
