Description

Join Nanna Heitmann’s workshop to explore and capture the essence of Sarajevo and its surrounding suburbs as part of our Inside>>Out program.

Over five immersive days, you will undertake the creation of a brand new project around the capital city of Bosnia and its surroundings. Guided by Nanna Heitmann, you’ll work to define a subject that aligns with your interests, while developing and refining your approach to capturing it photographically.

Before the workshop begins, you will receive a list of resources to help you learn about the country and the city. This will allow you to familiarize yourself with the place and its history, sparking ideas for projects you can develop once you are on site.

We all have the same problems: procrastination, self-doubt, overthinking. Sometimes we just need a little push to overcome our fears and go out shooting” says Nanna reflecting on her teaching approach. With her strong experience in long-term projects focused on the way people interact with their environment, she’ll guide you in building and strengthening your relationship to the city and its people to properly achieve your project.

This workshop offers :

  • A unique opportunity to develop a brand new project under time and place constraints.
  • A deepened knowledge of the city of Sarajevo and Bosnia.
  • The chance to explore your interests and how to best approach them depending on the subject chosen.
  • Individual reviews with Nanna Heitmann: engage in one-to-one discussion and receive personalized feedback on your photographic work from a professional photographer.
  • Group reviews: engage in group discussions to gain diverse perspectives on your work, learn from peers, and develop a sense of community through shared experiences.
