
Rebecca Topakian is a French-Armenian artist living between Paris region and Yerevan.
Following the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war, she partially relocated to Yerevan. Topakian was an artist-in-residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts (2018–2019), and her work has received several awards and grants: the Fénéon Prize (2021), the ADIAF Emergence Prize (2023), the national commission Regards du Grand Paris (2021), and national commission from the BnF (French National Library) in 2022.
Her work has been exhibited at the Rencontres d’Arles (2015), the BnF (2023), the Biennale de l’Image Tangible (2018), the Chicago Cultural Center (2024), Magasins Généraux (2022), and the Cité Internationale des Arts (2019 and 2024). Her project Dame Gulizar and Other Love Stories won the BUP Book Prize in 2021 and was published in 2024. The launch was accompanied by a solo exhibition at Delpire & Co (PhotoSaintGermain and Weekend à l’Est festivals). Her works are currently exhibited in the Ústí nad Labem House of Arts in Czech Republic, in Casino Luxembourg and Albert Kahn Museum, and will soon be exhibited at MAC VAL.
