D’Après Nature (After Nature) is the travel journal of Jean Gaumy in the mountains of Piedmont Occitan in Italy. Through these pictures from solo trips in the mountains Jean Gaumy gives us his vision of the landscapes making it extremely rare to seem abstract, and yet with a real-transmitting range of emotions that the artist has proven.
This is a forty photography album in black and white, extremely graphic, sometimes verging on abstraction, but also extremely intimate. The book also features a foreword extract from the Mont Analogue by the French writer René Daumal.
