With the support of Save the Dream, Instituto Moreira Salles and ESPN, Alex Majoli has been documenting the streets of Sao Paulo during the World Cup.

For many months, Brazilians have taken to the street to demonstrate against the country's commitment to hosting the 2014 World Cup. They question the logic behind devoting massive amounts of money to a sporting event at a time when so many impoverished citizens could benefit from government funded social programs. Despite great efforts to keep protestors from interfering with World Cup events, demonstrations persist.

Amid all this activity politicians vie for control of Sao Paolo's state government.
