On the occasion of Exhibition Expo Milano 2015, Magnum Photos developed a special project with Italian newspaper La Stampa.

From February to June 2015, photographers Alex Majoli, Jonas Bendiksen, Paolo Pellegrin and Olivia Arthur will produce a series of four special essays around the theme of nutrition.

Alex Majoli’s feature story focuses on the cycle of rice production in the south of India and in China.
Rice as a cereal grain is the most widely consumed staple food for a large part of the world's human population, especially in Asia.
