The Korean War: Behind the Battlefront
Seventy-five years ago, on June 25, 1950, North Korea invaded South Korea, igniting the Korean War. The brutal conflict that followed claimed millions of lives and left deep scars that endure to this day. Magnum photographer Werner Bischof was profoundly moved by the human suffering he witnessed during the war. As we mark the anniversary of its outbreak, we reflect on his powerful documentation of this historic and still unresolved conflict.
