Written more than 400 years ago, The Fables of La Fontaine have been illustrated over the centuries by draftsmen, engravers, and painters. We can now add a photographer to the list: in 2004 Martine Franck followed the work of the highly acclaimed American stage director Robert Wilson at the Comédie Française. During the performance, she was able to capture a body language composed of precision and grace, a brilliant grammar of color and form true to the enchanting poetry of La Fontaine.
