"New Yorker" is an illustrated book based on the GEO-Special New York that came out of Thomas Hoepker and Eva Windmoeller's collaboration. The book is not about the city, but about an assortment of individuals of all cultures and social stratums that keep this eccentric city moving.
New York is more or less an assorted chaos of ethnic peoples and multicultural neighborhoods. Hoepker and Windmoeller were fascinated by the fact of just how easy it seemed for people not to get rid of furniture and jobs but also get rid of a whole identity overnight. You can reinvent yourself! That could be the motto of this book if required. New York is a city that pushes your creativity as far as possible and can built up a character as no other.
Hoepker and Windmoeller illustrate the different characters, and reveal how the term "New Yorker" can be interpreted in a multitude of ways.
