The soldiers are either Serbian volunteers who fought in Bosnia, or Bosnian Serbs who were transferred to Belgrade for treatment. They stay in Rudo for approximately 6 months, and many of them will have to learn how to function with artificial limbs. SERBIA. Belgrade. - Giovanni DI STEFANO. The mystery man of the new Yugoslavia, presumed to be the richest man in Belgrade. He is a catholic of Italian descent. According to an article in the Belgrade based magazine DUGA; 'he was invited from London by Belgrade by Radoica NIKCAVIC the Serbian owner of Sumadia, a large construction company. Nikcavic was later found dead and he was succeeded in the company by Di Stefano, one of the prime suspects of his death. Duga magazine said that the new Yugoslavia has now become the Eldorado for businessmen of his kind. Di Stefano is today the owner of a number of construction companies, an airline in Austria, some radio stations and a lot of foreign based companies. He recently offered to buy the Hollywood company of Metro Goldwyn Mayer for half a million dollars, he also owns shares in Colombian banks and according to rumours in Belgrade he is involved in the Colombian drug cartel. He is also reported to be one of Milocevic's close friends and is protected by Him. It is Di Stefano who financed his best friend Arkan's (Zeljko Raznatovic) party in the last Bosnian elections. - Nikos Economopoulos

He lost his leg, an eye, and his left hand is paralysed. He wears a medallion as a war trophy taken from a 14 year old Mudjahedin. He declares that he wants to go back to the war once he is capable of walking again but for the time being he is heavily addicted to amphetamines.

SERBIA. Belgrade. - Rudo orthopedic clinic for war victims.

This rehabilitation center hosts about 200 handicapped war victims, both soldiers and civilians. Most of them are injured as result of stepping on mines. The soldiers are either Serbian volunteers who fought in Bosnia, or Bosnian Serbs who were transferred to Belgrade for treatment. They stay in Rudo for approximately 6 months, and many of them will have to learn how to function with artificial limbs. Some of the war patients also receive psychiatric help, as about 40 patients have lost all of their relatives during the war in Bosnia. - Nikos Economopoulos
