80th Anniversary of Hiroshima Nuclear Bombing
On August 6 and 9, 1945, the U.S. dropped the only nuclear weapons ever used in war on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The combined death toll is estimated to be between 129,000 and 250,000, with roughly half of the victims perishing in the months immediately following the attacks.
This year's 80th anniversary of the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions, underscoring the urgent need for remembrance.
