LAOS. - Luang Prabang. 13/04/91. Hmongs on a shopping-spree in town. Hmongs live on the mountains in the northern and central parts of the country. Agriculture is their chief means of subsistence. They grow corn and rice on burned-over forest land. Opium is an important cash crop, and it is sold in the lowland markets. They are mostly animists.
