On Sunday, January 13th, hundreds of thousands gathered in perhaps the largest anti-gay marriage march ever in Paris. The police claim there were 350,000 people present at the protest, while the protest organizers claim that there were over one million participants. Official slogans included "marriagophile, not homophobe," "all born of one father one mother" and "paternity, maternity, equality", a parody on the French national motto. The plan to legalise gay marriage and adoption is expected to pass in June.
