Auschwitz Liberated 70 Years Ago

The Auschwitz Nazi concentration camp was liberated by Soviet troops on January 27th, 1945. The massive facility contained concentration, labor and extermination sections at which no fewer than 1.1 million people, mostly Jews, died in gas chambers as well as from starvation, disease, forced-labor, and medical experimentation.
