Gueorgui PINKHASSOV sheds a new light on urban mobility for the RATP Group.

“At every station, stop, second, something exceptionally simple happens. The carriages advance and the stations follow one another just like [every] life follows another.” Gueorgui Pinkhassov

The RATP Group gave Magnum's Gueorgui Pinkhassov Carte Blanche, asking him to offer his personal and artistic view on urban mobility. Casablanca, Florence, London, Paris, Seoul: Gueorgui wandered in the five cities to capture their energy, movement, emotionally frequencies and tones.

True to his photographic style, Pinkhassov plays with shadows and light, creating an urban patchwork with over 40 images that reflect his visual poetics in these five cities that represent the RATP Group’s business of bringing together 12 million people everyday in France and all over the world.

From June 16th to September 30th 2014, RATP will be inviting Gueorgui Pinkhassov to display an exclusive selection of images in 17 Paris Metro stations.

The first exhibition will take place at the Magnum Gallery in Paris from June 17th to 21st.
