Full Moon Party, July 25, 2013.
During every full moon there is an all-night beach party at Haad Rin Beach, on the island of Koh Phangan, in Thailand.
According to Wikipedia: “Mostly attended by westerners, the first Full Moon Party was improvised at a wooden disco not far from the beach in 1985, for giving thanks to about 20–30 travelers. The parties gained fame through word of mouth, and the event now draws a crowd of about 20,000–30,000 every full moon evening.”
I was in Thailand to photograph a friends wedding. Mid-way through his bachelor party, during the Full Moon Party, I lost track of the group and began wandering the beach in the early morning hours, photographing revelers during the largest Full Moon Party of 2013.
