by Martine Franck
This exhibition presents a survey of Martine Frank's work over a span of 30 years. Each of her photographs conveys a romantic revelation: nature (such as the sea landscapes of the Tory Island), the infinite ways in which humans inscribed themselves on nature (from the Chinese Buddhas to the cobblestones of Paris), family (through photos of the elderly with embedded portraits of bygone days), artistic creation in the 20th century (through portraits of emblematic artists), and, in particular, drama (such as images of le Théâtre du Soleil).
